Aston regains sub zero top spot

It’s not just the Top Gear cool wall that has a special place for Aston Martin.

The annual CoolBrands survey is out, and happily, the boys and girls at Gaydon have managed to take back the number one spot.

The company’s one of a handful of brands that is frequently scooping this accolade – it was the coolest brand in Britain in 2006, 2007 and 2008 as well.

Whilst it’s not particularly surprising news given their performance record in this specific survey, it’s worth noting that the team at Aston Martin is also communicating in a way that will help the company to sustain this image and momentum in the long term.

Lots of car companies are using social networks now, but considering Aston’s relatively small production volume compared to the big boys, I think it’s done a sterling job so far.

320,000+ fans on Facebook is not small fry, and the level of engagement on Twitter feels just right for its 3,600 followers at the moment.
