One of my favourite elements of Flickr is the ‘Favourites‘ feature on an individual’s profile. This is not favourite shots from your own portfolio, but a way of collating photos you admire from other users; something to pass on to others as a recommendation, or open up in your spare time as inspiration. Some photographers’ names crop up multiple times in my favourites – here are six of the best.
Signature style: Ultra-slick surfaces in high-contrast colours, photographed in locations that perfectly complement the vehicle.
Signature style: A sweeping S-bend with the forests of Adenau in the background, panning a perfectly-placed supercar across the frame.
Signature style: Something stupendously expensive is the star of an impeccably framed and timed composition.
Luke Alexander Gilbertson
Signature style: Right place, right time shot of a supercar at night in London. Or photographing Nick Mason’s 250 GTO on Finsbury Avenue Square…
Signature style: Likes to play with both natural and artificial light, to bring out rich colours wrapped around cars you’re unlikely to spot twice in a lifetime.
Signature style: Maximising the access he has to compose awesome portraits of both cars and the people who drive them. Most of the shots would look at home in an expertly-produced magazine, and indeed many are.
